ACCIDENTS: What if someone gets injured during the tour?
We are equipped with VHW radios and satellite communicaiton on all our tours so that we can send out an emergency at any time. If someone should get seriously injured during the tour, this persons always gets the priority.
ACCOMMODATION: Where do we stay during the tour?
During the trekking days we will stay in high-quality 4-season MSR tents for 2 to 3 persons. During the non-trekking days we will stay in comfortable B & B’s , hotels or private houses.
What happens if I get altitude sickness?
In order to keep these risks at a minimum we have designed all our tours in a way that we climb steady and slowly, always following the motto “climb high – sleep low”. It is important to drink sufficient liquids, with at least 4l of water per day. In case someone gets seriously altitude sick, the guide will determine whether it can be treated best through hydration/drugs or through descending the mountain.
Cancellation: What happens if I get seriously sick shortly before the tour starts?
We highly recommend you to purchase a travel cancellation insurance. A lot of organisation and financial advances are involved for all our tours, which are often not refundable. Therefor our cancellation policy applies for all our tours, as stated in our GTC.
Endurance: How long will be the longest trekking day?
The length of the different trekking days varies varies widely from tour to tour. We have therefor created detailled info presentations for each tour, in which the individual day trips together with the elevation gains are described. Please note that all indicated times are guided values and that breaks are not included. You can find further information on the respective tour site.
Equipment: Where can I rent gear?
If you lack part of the equipment, you can either buy it or rent gear in Europa, e.g. via the DAV, ÖAV etc.
EQUIPMENT: Which equipment do I need for the tour?
The equipment you need for each tour is mentioned in the detailed info presentations as well as on the different tour site here on our website.
Experience: Do I have enough experience?
For all our tours previous mountain and camping experiences are indispensable. First altitude experiences are furthermore favourable, in particular for tours with summit ascents. A good health and a good physical condition are essential. We happy to provide you with a corresponding fitness program in case you with to prepare yourself for the tour intensively.
FITNESS: What if I don’t fit in with the group ability or otherwise?
It is very important that you are realistic in the self-assessment of your skills and experience. However due to the small size of the group incompatibility issues are largely avoided.
FLIGHT: Is the international flight to the destination country included in the tour price?
Nein. We have learnt from experience that our participants prefer to buy their international flight ticket themselves due to individual preferences. However, if you prefer that we buy your flight ticket for you, we are happy to help.
Group size: how big is going to be the group?
We always work with small groups with a max. of 6 persons in order to maximise safety in the mountains and dynamics within the group.
INSURANCE: Do I absolutely need an overseas health and mountain rescue insurance?
Yes, these insurances are indispensable if you plan to join any of our tours. Please let us know the name of your insurance companies upon registrating.
Meal preferences: Can individual meal preferences be considered?
If you are vegetarian or vegan of if you have food intolerances, please let us know upon registration. We are happy to adopt your meals in accordance.
Money: How much spending money should I bring with me?
We recommend bringing some cash (dollars or euros). We are happy to assist you with getting local currency at a fair rate once being in the destination country.
Are the entrance fees for National/Provincal Parks included?
Yes, however, if necessary, we do not preclude a corresponding increase in prices in individual cases, should local authorities decide to increase entrance fees.
Payment: What payment options do you offer?
All our tours can be paid either by bank transfer, Paypal or Revolut.
VACCINATIONS: Do I need special vaccinations?
Recommanded vaccinations are stated in the info presentations of our tours as well as in the detailed tour descriptions.
VISA -Do I need a visa?
Please inform yourself in good time about the visa conditions that are applicable in your case in your home country. We are happy to help you with any questions.
